On November 15th, we held our first Community Celebration event at the Briars Conservatory.
Our work with local community organisations at a grass roots level is incredibly important to us. It is via our Community Grants program and Highlands Heroes award that we are able to assist in bringing to life and maintaining projects and initiatives that are essential to the community.
The Celebration was a wonderful opportunity to come together and highlight some of the extraordinary work of our grant recipients and Highlands Heroes the past two years.
We presented awards to four Highlands Heroes, and our first Young Hero (who will be officially announced early next year). Additionally, we presented an award to our special guests and now Highlands Heroes Patrons, Leo Sayer and John Waters. Leo and John were our inspiration for the Highlands Heroes Award after we helped manage the distribution of the funds raised by them through the Fire Aid concert in 2020. The community response was incredible and $340,000 was raised for those affected by the devastating bushfires.
A huge thank you to @vocalmuster one of our grant recipients who provided the incredible musical talent and AV for the event. We look forward to continuing our work in 2025 and beyond, investing in initiatives that help the vulnerable in our community and promote kindness and connection. Keep an eye on our socials for what’s coming up in 2o25.
