The Southern Highlands Community Foundation (SHCF) is on a mission to build a community that is kind and connected. A community that is giving and helps those in need. We do this by supporting initiatives that have lasting impact and generate hope which help our community continue to thrive.

Since we started in 2001, we’ve distributed well over $1M in funds, supported over 70 community projects and got behind over 50 community capacity building projects. Not bad for a humble regional community foundation.

Community Grants
The SHCF has contributed over $1M to support local community projects and vulnerable people in the Southern Highlands since we were founded. In 2023 we awarded 19 grants (a total of $93,000 dollars) to help target areas of need in our community.
Highlands Heroes
It’s time to celebrate the unsung heroes of the Highlands. We’d like to announce the SHCF Highlands Heroes awards.
Highlands Heroes is a bi-monthly award to recognise and reward those quiet achievers in our community who work tirelessly for their chosen cause. We’re calling for not-for-profit community organisations to nominate worthy volunteers for the award. Winners will be recognised and rewarded with a $5000 grant for their organisation.

Vital Signs
Vital Signs is a global research methodology that explores the key themes of health, education, employment, housing and belonging to provide a community snapshot to better target funding and support.
Our Board
As a registered charity and public foundation, the SHCF is governed by a board of directors who give their time to assist with the administration and direction of the foundation.
